The latest Japanese Group 1 season began with the Sprinters Stakes and Japanese runners will soon be racing in the Victorian Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne

The Japanese Victorian Spring Racing Carnival entrants Fame Game (JPN) and Hokko Brave (JPN) were third acceptors this week for the $3.15m, Group 1 BMW Caulfield Cup (2400m) at Caulfield on October 17th.

The two runners will take their place in the field as part of five internationally-trained horses expected to take their place in the race. The 2011 and 2012 Caulfield Cups both featured four internationally-trained starters with the latter won by French star Dunaden (IRE).

Snow Sky (GB) and reigning Melbourne Cup champion Protectionist (GER) are the equal top-weights on 58kg. Joining Snow Sky and the Japanese runners in the international contingent are Ascot Gold Cup winner Trip To Paris (IRE) and Northumberland Plate winner Quest For More (IRE).
