Asian Racing Federation runners feature in LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2018

Asian Racing Federation runners featured in the second edition of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2018, for 3yos and upwards which raced between 1st January and 8th April 2018, headed by Australia’s Winx (AUS) as the joint leader with now retired Gun Runner (USA).

Winx, the world’s best turf runner, remains rated at 129 along with Gun Runner ahead of West Coast (USA) on 124.

Dubai World Cup meeting performances from Thunder Snow (IRE) and Benbatl (GB) took them to 123 which they share with Australian runners Happy Clapper (AUS) and Trapeze Artist (AUS).

Thunder Snow defeated West Coast to take the Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline (G1), while Benbatl was victorious in the Dubai Turf Sponsored by DP World (G1).

In Australia, Happy Clapper improved his rating from 121 to 123 when winning The Star Doncaster Mile (G1) after finishing second to Winx in The Agency George Ryder Stakes (G1). Trapeze Artist’s win in the Darley T J Smith Stakes (G1) at Randwick earned the three-year-old his increased ranking.

Additionally, Gailo Chop (FR) at 119 was victorious in the Ranvet Stakes (G1), and Levendi (AUS) at 119 won the Harrolds Australian Derby (G1) one week after taking the Tricolours Racing & Syndications Tulloch Stakes (G2).

In Japan Suave Richard (JPN) at 121 won the Osaka Hai (G1) over PERSIAN KNIGHT (JPN) at 119.
