Australia’s champion mare Winx (AUS), at a rating of 130, remains at the top of the world rankings of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings released this week for three-year-old’s who have raced between 1st January and 10th June, 2018.

The latest rankings reflect Northern Hemisphere racing season now underway with Cracksman (GB) at 125 in the UK and Justify (USA) at 124 in the USA.

Cracksman took the Investec Coronation Cup (G1), while Justify won both the Preakness Stakes (G1) and Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets (G1) to become the 13th Triple Crown winner in the United States.

Other changes to the rankings include Harry Angel (IRE) (122), who won the Duke of York Clipper Logistics Stakes (G2) by two lengths in his seasonal debut, Accelerate (USA), 121, and Masar (IRE), 121.

Masar notched his first victory at the highest level when he won the English Derby (G1) by 1 ½ lengths.

Asian Racing Federation’s Happy Clapper (AUS) and Trapeze Artist (AUS) remain sixth equal in the latest rankings at 123.

Of note is that Winx’s trainer Chris Waller reported this week that the rising seven-year-old Street Cry mare was back in his Rosehill stables in Sydney with her preparation for a 2019 spring campaign underway.

Winx may well commence that campaign in the race now named after her, the former Warwick Stakes renamed in her honour as the Winx Stakes.

Winx’s jockey Hugh Bowman still leads the LONGINES World’s Best Jockey table with 50 points over Hong Kong based Zac Purton with 48 points. Ryan Moore has 42 points closely followed by William Buck, the rider of Masar in the English Derby, with 40.
