The Equestrian Club was established in 1965 in accordance with the Ministry of Labour & Social Affairs Licence. During this period a Board of Directors was formed of eight members headed by H.R.H. King Abdullah Ben 'A/Aziz as a Chairman of the Board.
On the first meeting of the Board of Directors several committees were formed: a) The Club's Executive Committee b) Stewards & Judgement Committee c) Selection Committee d) Financial Committee
The Stewards Committee ordered by the Board of Directors to establish rules, regulations and an annual race programme.
The annual race programme schedules 32 meetings, each one consisting of 6 horse races.
The Board of Directors decided to use the old stand of Almalaz as a temporary office for the race staff.
A long time ago prior to the Club's establishment, the area (Almalaz) was named due to the special races held there. (Lazaz Alkhail) with H.R.H. King Abdullah Ben 'A/Aziz's advice and constant support the races have improved from season to season to reach the current stage which is to spread this sport all across Saudi Arabia. It is then intended to programme international races as soon as the new club's racecourse at Aljanadriyah is completed.
