The Equestrian Federation of I.R. Iran is the national governing body of equestrian sport in the Islamic Republic of Iran and represents the country at the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), Asian Equestrian Federation (AEF), International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA), and Asian Racing Federation (ARF). The EFI is an umbrella organisation for equestrian sport in Iran, representing 10,000 equestrian sportspeople.
The EFI is responsible for the governance, administration and regulation of horseracing in Iran. The EFI leads the development and growth of racing and prioritises the health and welfare of the sport’s human and equine athletes.
Each EFI chairman stands for a period of four years, with a maximum of two terms. The current chairman is Dr. Masoud Khalili (interim chair, 2022).
