New Zealand Bloodstock's two-day Premier Yearling Sale at Karaka was held in the last week of January with 298 yearlings selling for NZ$44.9 million at an average of NZ$150,881. The clearance rate was 75%.


Last year 326 yearlings were sold over the two days for NZ$47.1 million at an average of NZ$144,548 with the clearance rate 78%.


Defending its leading vendor title was Waikato Stud, selling the most yearlings of any vendor, with 40, for a total of NZ$6,860,000. Waikato Stud claimed their first leading vendor title last year and this year achieved their highest individual price ever at NZ$600,000.
