Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi elected Vice-Chairman of Asian Racing Federation

The Executive Council of the Asian Racing Federation (ARF) has unanimously elected Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, Board Member and General Manager of the Emirates Racing Authority (ERA), as one of the ARF’s two Vice-Chairmen.  This is the first time a representative of the ERA has been appointed to a senior leadership role in the ARF.

In recent years, the Middle East has seen significant new development which underpins the importance of the region for the future growth of racing globally. Mr Al Shehhi has made a substantial positive contribution in this regard, including to help ensure strong and ongoing collaboration between countries in the Middle East.  The ARF is committed to supporting the development and expansion of racing in the region.

The election of Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi builds upon the foundational role that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has played over many years in promoting the advancement of racing and breeding in the Emirates, but moreover globally.

“I am honored and extremely grateful to the Executive Council for placing its trust in me to fulfil the role of Vice-Chairman.  I am very much looking forward to enhancing the development of racing and breeding across the ARF footprint, and particularly throughout the Gulf region,” Mr Al Shehhi said.

ARF Chairman Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges said, “Racing across the region and globally will benefit greatly from the expansion of racing in the Middle East.  As our new Vice Chairman, Mohammad takes on a prominent leadership role, and will be instrumental in leading the future direction of the ARF.”
