The Singapore Turf Club recently announced that it has discontinued the international Group 1 races, the Singapore Airlines International Cup (SIA Cup) and KrisFlyer International Sprint (KFIS).

Singapore discontinues SIA Cup and Krisflyer Sprint

The Singapore Turf Club recently announced that it has discontinued the international Group 1 races, the Singapore Airlines International Cup (SIA Cup) and KrisFlyer International Sprint (KFIS).

The races, which were introduced in 2000 and 2001 respectively, were raced each May at Kranji with the objectives to include branding Singapore races internationally and uplifting the quality of Singapore horses and Singapore Racing.


As the objectives set out for the two races have been achieved the Singapore Turf Club announced that the SIA Cup and KFIS will be discontinued.


The Club thanked all the connections, horsemen and officials who have participated in the SIA Cup and the KFIS over the years and contributed to the successes of the two races.
