January saw the release of the LONGINES World's Best Racehorse (WBRR) and 2014 will be remembered as the year when the World's Best Racehorse was trained in Japan for the first time. Japan secured the top two rankings in the world courtesy of the wide winning margin of Dubai Duty Free (G1) winner Just A Way (JPN) with a ranking of 140 and the outstanding Japan Cup in association with Longines (G1) winner Epiphaneia (JPN) ranked 129.
