Formal education and training for the most needed professions in the sector are delivered at the Ekrem Kurt Apprentice School in Istanbul Veliefendi Racecourse, and at the Education & Training Centre in Karacabey which offers Farriery and Lad Training courses all year long.
Ekrem Kurt Apprentice School provides formal education and training to future jockeys for a three-year period and functions as a boarding school within Veliefendi Racecourse. The Education & Training Centre in Karacabey provides a significant opportunity for aspiring young individuals interested in pursuing the farriery or lad professions, which are both crucial aspects of the racing sector, by organising courses aimed at improving service standards and graduating farriers and lads.
Both training centres provide education and training at international standards, and all expenses of the students and trainees, such as healthcare, food and accommodation, are covered by TJK for the duration of their terms.
